The Zen Master Open Baffle is a classic open-baffle design created by Steve Deckert of Decware Audio, based on the original design by Caintuck Audio:

During the development of the open baffle, Steve discovered our F-15 driver units and incorporated them into the design with very satisfying results. After sharing his findings, many audiophiles followed this design and expressed their enthusiastic feedback. Decware then refined the concept and introduced a hardwood version as part of their “Zen Master” open-baffle series:

The Zen Master Open Baffle we offer follows the same acoustic design, but with differences in materials and finish. They are built by a piano manufacturer using piano-grade MDF + veneer, finished in high-gloss thick piano lacquer, and reinforced with a heavy metal base with spikes—providing a very stable acoustic foundation for optimal sound performance. The front cutout features a curved shape forming a small horn that enhances the dense midrange and ensures smooth soundwave projection.

The ZF15M is more compact in scale, making it ideal for small to medium-sized listening rooms. Similar to the original Caintuck open baffle, it delivers an astonishing “floating” soundstage, with the speakers effectively “disappearing” from the listener’s perception. It uses the F-15 driver unit, trusted by thousands of audiophiles worldwide, as it perfectly matches the smaller open-baffle size for optimal performance in smaller spaces.
