Lyritech Moon River 8 Silver Edition / Gloss

Description

Lyritech Moon River 8 Silver Edition / Gloss

High sensitivity, coherence and remarkably natural musicality

The Lyritech Moon River 8 Silver Edition / Gloss is a floorstanding loudspeaker designed for listeners seeking a direct, vivid and emotionally engaging musical presentation. It combines the coherence of a full-range transducer with the greater extension, presence and scale provided by a carefully constructed floorstanding enclosure.

The Silver Edition represents the natural evolution of the original Moon River 8. It introduces the Lyritech Silver 8 driver, a reinforced internal structure and a refined high-gloss natural wood finish.

The result is a more precise and controlled loudspeaker that remains entirely faithful to the Lyritech philosophy: technical simplicity, high sensitivity and a particularly intimate connection with the musical performance.

Lyritech Silver 8 full-range driver

At the heart of the system is the Lyritech Silver 8, an 8-inch dual-cone full-range transducer. Its design allows most of the audible spectrum to be reproduced from a single point, promoting excellent tonal continuity and a particularly cohesive presentation.

By reducing the transitions between separate drivers, voices and instruments retain greater tonal integrity. Music flows naturally, with stable stereo imaging and a convincing sense of presence that is difficult to achieve with more complex multi-way systems.

Compared with the driver used in the original Moon River 8, the Silver 8 provides greater clarity, control and refinement, particularly through the midrange and upper-midrange. Subtle musical information is revealed with ease, without turning the listening experience into an artificial display of detail.

Spacious, fast and expressive sound

The Moon River 8 Silver Edition delivers an open and dynamic presentation, with a rich and particularly convincing midrange. Voices possess body, texture and presence, while acoustic instruments retain their natural tone and proportions.

Its floorstanding cabinet produces a greater sense of scale than a conventional stand-mount loudspeaker. Bass extends deeper and carries more authority while retaining the speed and articulation associated with an efficient full-range design.

The soundstage expands convincingly in width and depth, placing performers in stable positions throughout the listening space. Its open and communicative character makes it equally suitable for intimate recordings and larger musical ensembles.

96 dB sensitivity: more music from less power

With a sensitivity of 96 dB, the Moon River 8 Silver Edition can deliver excellent dynamic performance with very little amplifier power. This makes it an ideal partner for valve amplifiers, Single-Ended designs, Class A electronics and other amplifiers of modest output.

Recommended amplification starts at just 7 watts, making the Moon River 8 Silver Edition particularly attractive for amplifiers using valves such as the 300B, 2A3, EL34 or 845, provided that the available output and room size are suitably matched.

High efficiency does more than improve compatibility with lower-powered amplifiers. It also contributes to immediacy, dynamic contrast and the ability to convey the energy of a performance even at moderate listening levels.

Reinforced cabinet and front bass-reflex port

The Silver Edition features a more robust internal structure, developed to provide better control of cabinet vibration and resonance. This increased stability allows the driver to operate under more favourable conditions, improving bass definition, stereo focus and overall clarity.

The bass-reflex port is positioned at the bottom of the front baffle. This arrangement helps the loudspeakers integrate more easily into domestic listening rooms and makes their response less dependent on the distance from the rear wall than designs using a rear-firing port.

As with any floorstanding loudspeaker, we recommend leaving a reasonable distance from walls and corners to achieve the best balance between depth, control and definition.

High-gloss natural wood finish

The cabinet combines high-gloss natural wood side panels and top with an elegant black Gloss front baffle. The metallic driver details and Lyritech badge complete a restrained, classic and distinguished appearance.

The lacquer enhances the depth and natural grain of the wood. As every sheet of natural veneer is different, each matched pair possesses its own subtly individual character.
