Description
Lii Audio Fast-10
10-Inch Full-Range Speaker Driver
The Fast-10 is Lii Audio’s first 10-inch full-range driver conceived as a true reference unit within its catalogue. It is designed to offer satisfying extension at both ends of the frequency spectrum, delivering a convincing approach to the real concept of a “full-range” loudspeaker.
Its main purpose is to reproduce the human voice and acoustic instruments with exceptional naturalness, while preserving the unique coherence that full-range drivers are known for: a single point source, no crossover network, and a sense of sonic continuity that is difficult to achieve with conventional multi-way loudspeaker systems.
The Fast-10 focuses much of its character on an expressive, clean and direct midrange, with an open, dynamic and musical presentation.
Main Features
- Optimized voice coil for improved midrange performance, with special attention to human voice reproduction.
- Acrylic phase plug, designed to optimize high-frequency response and improve dispersion.
- Textile suspension with damping treatment, designed to ensure long-term durability and stable performance over time.
- High-performance Y35/Y45 magnet, according to manufacturer specification, capable of generating a deep, stable and even magnetic field, contributing to resolution, soundstage and dynamic control.
- Special straw pulp cone with natural fibers, developed to provide good sensitivity, controlled rigidity, lightness and a sweet, natural sound signature.
Sonic Character
The Fast-10 stands out for its high-resolution presentation, with fine, clean and transparent mids and highs. Its sound is characterized by notable speed, strong dynamics and a very attractive sense of overall clarity.
It is especially suitable for listeners looking for a direct, lively and natural sound, with very present and expressive reproduction of voices and instruments. It does not try to impress through artificial effects, but through coherence, immediacy and musicality.
Among its main qualities are:
- High resolution.
- Transparent and expressive midrange.
- Clean and extended high frequencies.
- Good dynamic response.
- Clear and natural sound.
- Excellent vocal reproduction.
- Strong tonal coherence.
- Wide soundstage when installed in a suitable cabinet.
The manufacturer recommends using it in large cabinets, especially from around 150 litres upwards, where the Fast-10 can better develop its bass extension and overall sonic scale. It can also be combined with the Lii Audio W-15 woofer for systems requiring greater weight and authority in the low frequencies.
Full-Range Philosophy
One of the great advantages of a full-range loudspeaker is that it does not require a crossover network. By working from a single point source, many of the usual problems related to phase, driver integration and loss of time coherence are avoided.
The result is a more natural, direct and pure reproduction. The signal follows a simpler path, with no additional components between the amplifier and the driver. This simplicity, when properly executed, is precisely one of the great virtues of this type of loudspeaker.
Lii Audio does not recommend adding corrective circuits such as a notch filter, as it considers that this type of circuit forcibly modifies the natural behaviour of the driver. Components such as inductors, resistors and capacitors may affect efficiency, introduce colouration and reduce signal purity.
The manufacturer’s philosophy is clear: it is preferable to tune the sound through cabinet design, materials and mechanical adjustment rather than through electrical correction.
In other words: less circuitry, more music. And on this point, the old school was very often right.
Materials and Construction
At the heart of the Fast-10 is its paper cone, manufactured from a pulp specially developed by Lii Audio. This pulp incorporates natural plant fibers and receives a post-strengthening treatment to achieve the right balance between rigidity, lightness and internal damping.
The aim is to create a cone capable of responding quickly, without sounding dry or aggressive. The combination of materials seeks a sound that is sweet, natural and sensitive to subtle musical nuances.
The textile suspension and elastic elements used are designed for long-term durability. According to the manufacturer, the damping treatment applied to the fabric surround is intended to resist ageing over long periods of use, maintaining the mechanical stability of the driver.
The magnetic circuit uses high-performance permanent ferrite. This type of material retains strong and stable magnetic remanence over time, even after the external magnetizing field has disappeared. It offers excellent thermal stability and is not prone to demagnetization under normal operating conditions.
The dual magnetic structure helps provide strong magnetic force and contributes to the driver’s high sensitivity.
The voice coil uses aluminium wire on a Kapton former, a lightweight solution that favours fast response and extended high-frequency performance. Combined with the double-cone structure, it allows the Fast-10 to reach a very respectable treble extension for a 10-inch full-range driver.
About Measurements and Listening
Lii Audio defends a very interesting idea: technical parameters are useful, but they cannot fully explain how a loudspeaker sounds.
Sensitivity, for example, indicates acoustic efficiency, but it does not by itself determine how easy a driver is to control with an amplifier. Two loudspeakers with similar sensitivity figures may behave very differently depending on impedance, internal resistance, mechanical construction and acoustic loading.
Likewise, a frequency response curve cannot fully describe texture, naturalness, soundstage, dynamics or the emotion conveyed by a loudspeaker. Sound is not just a graph: it is vibration, air, matter and human perception.
Parameters are helpful, but listening remains the final judge.
Lii Audio develops its loudspeakers mainly from the listening experience. Design, material selection and final tuning are carried out with the ear as the main reference. Once the design is completed, the driver is measured and tested in an anechoic chamber, but the manufacturer does not alter the essence of the product merely to make a graph look more attractive.
It is a very artisanal philosophy and, in a way, a very classical one: first the music, then the numbers.
Cabinet Design
The Fast-10 can be used in different types of enclosures, although the manufacturer especially recommends large cabinets in order to obtain its full potential.
Cabinet designs recommended by the manufacturer:

It is particularly interesting for:
- Large-volume full-range cabinets.
- Bass reflex enclosures.
- Open baffle designs, depending on tuning.
- Hybrid systems with woofer support.
- Projects using the Lii Audio W-15 for greater bass extension.

Conclusion
The Lii Audio Fast-10 is a large-format full-range driver designed for those seeking a coherent, lively and natural sound. Its high sensitivity, strong dynamic capability and special attention to the midrange make it a very attractive option for high-efficiency loudspeaker projects.
It is not a driver for those looking for a cold, surgical or excessively analytical presentation. Its natural territory is different: present voices, full-bodied instruments, a wide soundstage, a live feeling and that immediacy that only good full-range drivers can provide.
The Fast-10 represents Lii Audio’s philosophy very well: simplicity, sensitivity, natural materials and an approach to sound where music still comes before pure measurement.
