Lii Audio W-12 is not a standard full-range driver but a high-sensitivity technical woofer specifically engineered for Open Baffle (OB) configurations.

Unlike conventional woofers, the W-12 is designed to compensate for the natural bass roll-off that occurs in open baffles. It is the ideal partner to support a full-range driver (such as the Silver-8 or Silver-10), handling the musical foundation with stunning naturalness.

2. Outstanding Sonic Characteristics

• Organic and Fast Bass: Because it is not enclosed in a box, there are no “boxy” colorations or internal resonances. The W-12 delivers dry, defined, and extremely fast bass that perfectly matches the speed of paper-cone drivers.

• Texture and Definition: This is not a subwoofer for “booming,” but for “painting.” It allows the listener to clearly distinguish the vibration of a double bass string or the nuanced impact of a kick drum.

• Crossover Versatility: Although it is a woofer, its design allows it to climb cleanly into the lower-midrange, making it very easy to integrate with the main driver.

• Sensitivity (94 dB): While lower than the Silver series, it remains very high for a woofer of this caliber, ensuring a seamless transition in high-efficiency systems.

• High Qts (0.79): This is the most crucial spec. A high Qts is essential for Open Baffle use, as it allows the driver to maintain control and bass presence without the need for a damped enclosure.

• Fs of 38 Hz: A very low resonance frequency that ensures generous extension in both the impact and depth zones.

The idea of W-12 is re-sizing W-15 for fitting with small rooms and pairing with full range speakers of smaller cone, like 6.5″, 8″, 10″ and 12″ for coherent soundstage, this model can be regarded as re-sized W-15, only the scale adjusted but coil, magnet, suspension system, etc., stays the same for similar performance.

1. It uses short coil and super thick washer design, leading to very weakened distortion, 15mm Xmax for a good bass.
2. With Lii Song paper cone of unique material, it has a wide frequency response and transparent sound so that it can coordinate with a great variety of full range drivers.
3. Double coil design let it competent to be adapted with amplifiers and connect in parallel or in series with other driver units, according to impedance.
